Underwear
The Teddy A teddie or teddy is a sort of undergarment reminiscent of a bodysuit which is usually worn in the boudoir. Different to a bodysuit however, it is normally much looser and more sheer and could be fashioned to slip of the shoulders instead of open at the crotch. The teddie is typically worn for the provocative look, rather than for functional reasons. The Bra During the late eighteen eighties Herminie Cadolle of France developed the first modern brassiere. It was a two-piece undergarment known as le bien-etre (the well-being). The bottom section was a corset for the waist while the top part supported the bosoms by means of shoulder straps. By 1905 the upper section half was being offered separately as a soutien-gorge (breast-supporter, employing a euphemism for breast that traditionally means throat), the name by which bras are still called in France. Cadolle's business still exists currently. The Babydoll The babydoll is a tiny nightgown or negligee meant as nightwear for women. The clothing is often trimmed with ruffles, ribbons, bows, Marabou fur, lace and appliques, and sometimes optionally with spaghetti straps. Generally it is made from translucent or sheer textile like silk, nylon or chiffon. The garment's hemline is ordinarily about six inches above the knee like a minidress and may have a scoop-neck. Babydolls are generally considered exciting. The G-string The G-string or thong is possibly one of the primary types of clothing known to mankind. It is presumed to have developed in the considerably milder climates of sub-Saharan Africa where clothing was first worn nearly 75,000 years ago. A great number of native peoples used thongs for centuries. These firstv garments were made purely for the male genitalia. The Corset The corset became unfashionable in the nineteen twenties in Europe and America. Girdles and elastic bras were responsible for replacing it, but it survived as a costume article. Primarily an item of lingerie, the corset has since turned into a favorite item of outerwear in the fetish, gothic and BDSM fashion. In fetish and BDSM literature, there is mostly much emphasis on tightlacing. In this case, therefore, the corset may still be underwear rather than outerwear. |
